Scheduling system for a regional haulier

A whiteboard and three spreadsheets replaced with one scheduling system drivers can read from their phones.

  • Python
  • PostgreSQL
  • Progressive web app

Sample content. This case study is an illustrative example showing the page layout, not a real client engagement.

The problem

Loads were allocated on a whiteboard, then retyped into a spreadsheet, then texted to drivers. Every change had to be made in three places and often was not.

What we did

One scheduling model with a planner's view on the desk and a stripped-back driver view on mobile, updating live so a change made once is a change made everywhere.

The outcome

  • Planning time cut from hours to minutes each morning
  • Drivers see the current plan, not last night's
  • Delivery history searchable instead of boxed up
